False advertising

For Christmas Lauren "begged" for newest, hottest, coolest toy for girls, a cupcake maker. Mommy said "no" too messy, and requires a lot of adult supervision. To whom does a girl turn to when mommy says "no?" Grandma of course. She delivered! It was the first toy Lauren wanted to play with on Christmas day, and mommy feeling the Christmas spirit agreed to adult supervision.

An apron is a must for baking. Lauren's apron says "princess" but I was informed it really should say "diva." Lauren is mixing the batter for a cupcake.

The cupcake cooks in a special container in 30 seconds in the microwave. Nothing like instant gratification.

Next it is on to icing. The cupcake is placed on the turn stand, and the tube of icing is pointed down ward. To operate the cupcake maker, you push down on the pink lever, which squeezes the icing out, and rotates the cupcake.

Small problem, when the operator of the cupcake maker lets go of the pink lever, the cupcake goes flying off the turn stand and lands face first on the counter.

As you can see Lauren was less than pleased that the frosting ended up on the counter, and not her cupcake.

Second try, managed to get frosting on the cupcake, sort of.......

This is the box with showing perfect cupcakes, that are perfectly frosted. I wonder what we did wrong?

It's got to be an improvement over the tiny layer cake making set I got as a child. The cake tasted like the plastic packets the pre-batter came in. Such anticipation, then . . . . gag.

My neices got that kit for Christmas and my sister said it was just a nightmare. Poor Lauren. My favorite part of your post was the picture with the cupcake after it had flown off the turntable. Who tests these things? Come on people, have a heart!

Fun-ny!
Not for Lauren...but for the reader. :o)
I'd have to agree that the picture of the "flown" cupcake was the best.
